Pallars SobiràNature's paradise
High mountains, glacial lakes, breathtaking landscapes, surprising wildlife, traditional villages... Genuineness and peacefulness are the best words to discribe Pallars Sobirà, one of the largest but scarcely populated regions in Catalonia.
The small number of people living in the region has made possible to preserve the nature at its best. For this reason most of the territory is protected: Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, Alt Pirineu Natural Park, Boumort Nature Reserve, Noguera Pallaresa-Collegats Partial Nature Reserve and many other spectacular natural spots which make Pallars Sobirà be a nature's paradise.
Pallars Sobirà comprises many valleys of the High Pyrenees, in northern Catalonia: Àneu valley, Cardós valley, Ferrera valley, Àssua valley, Siarb valley... Each valley has its own personality, but Noguera Pallaresa, the river crossing the region from North to South, unifies them all with its wild water flowing down until it reaches the high rocky walls of Collegats Canyon, the southern natural boundary of the region.
Come enjoy the region with more protected areas in Catalonia!
