Rialp, tradition and modernity

Tradition is all around the cobbled streets of the villages that make up the municipality of Rialp. Sheep, cows and horses graze all over the meadows of the impressive valley of Àssua, where farming is still alive and kicking. The remains of Rialp castle bear witness to the medieval past of the village –with traditional craftmanship– and the riches of the architectural heritage is spread all over the mountains of the municipality through tower bells and slate roofs.

Taking their past into account, the villages of Rialp have been able to adapt to modern times in order to offer all the services required by the skiers who come and visit Port Ainé Ski Resort, by the adventurers who want to glide down the rapids of the river Noguera Pallaresa and by the hikers who intend to discover the exciting secrets of nature walking through the many paths that go deep inside Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park and Alt Pirineu Natural Park.
