Mountains of water
Water fills with life the high mountains in the municipality of Lladorre. In summer the landscape becomes blue from the waters of the many glacial lakes and in winter snow and ice cover it all with a white cloak. The pure nature around the 6 small villages in the municipality is a part of Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the most symbolic place is undoubtedly Lake Certascan, the largest lake in the Pyrenees.
Lladorre lies in the North of Cardós Valley, where some hydroelectric power stations were built to produce energy from the strength of the water. The power station in Tavascan attracts many people all year round to discover the secrets inside the mountains. In winter, the streets in Tavascan are burstling with skiers and adventurers who come to enjoy the snow in Tavascan high mountain ski resort.
